High Score

Predator Press

[LOBO]

"What are you doing?" asks Screechy, my fascinated six year old.

As the pale bule light flickers over my face, I don't even look at him. "I'm clicking on a few Entrecard sites in the faint hope I can score a few million readers tonight."

After a beat, I lean over and whisper "It might mean the difference between Harvard and Brown for you."

He grimaces at the monitor. "You get points by clicking on those little yellow boxes?"

"Yes son. Every one of those little yellow boxes is the blog of an infinitely important and interesting individual human being."

"It looks like a game. Can I play?"

I pause, thinking.

"Only if you play to win."

Clickety click. That's what it's all about, my brother. Clickety click. No concern for content, just click. ;) Well, I'm off to click on more...more...more...

...oh, have I told you lately that....

you're a FREAK....? Well, I am now and you ar, but in a good way. :)

Love you, babes. (Would "love" you more on HB.com, but only allowed to click on one post per day...take it up with Diesel ;)

hehehehe Thats the same question my daughter ask lol
I don't get the whole Entrecard thing. So far it sounds like people spend inordinate amounts of time clicking through blogs they have no interest in, in the hope that tons of other bloggers who have no interest in your site will stop by. Am I missing something?

Entrecard? (googling...googling...googling)

I shall investigate.

In the meantime, I shall cast my squiggly line in with the lot.

Cheers!

Etta-Rose: Seriously. Screechy can beat Lego Star Wars without a memory card. If I can convince him it's a game, I figure he's good for a hundred or so drops a day.

UR: Yeah (about the HB thing) ... I'm really having to exercise some restraint here. I've got a few more posts in the chamber but I'm stalling on because of this new rule.

-But then again, why let HB pace me? Maybe I'll just post 'em anyway. The only drawback is that I won't get any super high scoring posts anymore ... and they were kinda rare anyway ...

Anne: On the face it appears to be largely wasting time, but the fact is I've found some cool blogs and picked up a few readers here and there. It is true that the gained reader ratio is pretty low overall: Humor-Blogs and Humor-Bloggers are geared specifically for humorous blogs -I think a better rate of success versus time could be found there.

But, that being said, I'm picking up a lot of links from non-humorous blogs lately.

This is a pretty vast and unexplored market for us ...

Jeff: I can't make a case for it's practicality ... But I'm willing to work pretty hard to get another reader or two.

The Rev: Love your site ... I went there a few days ago.

It you're looking for Entrecard, it's here.

I've been reconsidering the whole entrecard/waste of time thing myself. Lately I've also been thinking about my bounce rate which is incredibly high. But I have found a lot of sites I would not have if not for Entrecard.

I know for sure that I am developing carpel tunnel syndrome from dropping EntreCards. I just thought I should put that out there.

I'm pretty new to EntreCard myself, and... well, yeah, time-sink. But it seems to be working pretty well, and I've found a lot of blogs I'd want to frequent even if there weren't the card-incentive to contend with.

I prefer not to drop and run; if I can find a comment to make, I try to do so. Figure it's only fair.
I don't know how to do it, either. I have a little box on my blog, and peoples' ads show up on it, but I don't know how to make my blog appear on others' sites. Ah well.
